Microblog 11/30

Hey everyone! Sorry for the comparative radio silence; I normally post updates along with my, well, updates, and so that’s gonna be happening… less? Especially with me just posting chapters and not books every time. Would y’all be interested in more blog posts to compensate, or are you fine with a like, once-or-twice-a-month microblog schedule still?

That said, this is more of a life update than a work update, since I’ve been focusing on New Job(s) and my, like, future n shit. I started substituting at the same time I started a tech job (no, seriously) and the thing is? I kind of prefer the tech job. The demands of the business world, while extensive, are about 300% less than the demands of teaching. And the pay? Girl, she better. It also gives me a lot more time/energy to write, which really still is my passion.

I have to work a lot each month to make ends meet, so there’s still not as much time for writing as I’d like, as you’ve no doubt noticed. Currently, I’m working on The Demon Isles, This Little Light, and, yes, Keeping Secrets. This month a lot of work went into maintaining and updating the website, but as of about two weeks ago, it’s pretty stable so I’m hoping more of my free time can be spent writing. And also playing DATV so I don’t get spoiled in my comment section the SECOND I update Keeping Secrets lmao.

I’d also like to thank everyone who gave helpful feedback on the website, especially stuff like broken or incorrect links or tiny lil errors. I really depend on EYEBALLS to catch this stuff, so it’s very helpful when folks point it out! Also, I hope the captcha to log in isn’t super annoying. I needed one to stop an absolute FLOOD of bots, but I tried to go with the least annoying version. I hate those stupid “select all squares with bikes” ones. Fuck you it’s too subjective! You know what’s not subjective???? MATH.

Anyway, thanks for your patience this month as I sorted out my life (and went to Broadway with a friend, we saw Maybe Happy Ending which, if you’re a musical type, I HIGHLY recommend. It’s an absolutely adorable play with frankly some of the most technologically impressive staging I’ve seen in ages). I can’t promise we’ll ever go back to the flurry of updates we had in the past year, but I’m confident that I can continue to crawl along.
