Hello everyone and welcome to this new thing where I post the same blog posts two places.
There’s honestly not a lot to say that I didn’t say during the website release, since it’s only been a little over a week, and like 100% of my focus was going into that for a while. But there’s been a few changes.
- Every post now has a “like” button at the bottom. It doesn’t do anything but make the number go up; it’s kind of meant to be like the Ao3 “kudos” button.
- There’s now an update log where you can see changes I make to the website. I’ll announce all those changes in blog posts eventually, but technically that’s updated first.
- We had our first bot sweep this morning. I’m not really sure what would inspire bots to sign up for this site, as you can access all the same things with a free account versus as a guest, hahaha. Comments, I guess? Anyway, they were obviously bots from their behavior, so I went ahead and cleaned up to be safe.
In writing news, I’m currently working on Chapter 18 of The Demon Isles. Then I think I’ll write Chapter 19. After that, I’ll probably switch to a different story, although which one, I have no idea. The sudden burst of freedom that “slowing my roll” and changing my update style has given me has me at a bit of a loss. I’m used to being more at the whims of my schedule. What do you guys think? I’m going to focus on writing rather than adding things to the website for a bit, at least until The Demon Isles 18 and 19 are done, but I’m not sure which things to write afterwards now that I have freedom to pick, hahaha.
And finally, by my own humble metrics, the website’s been a pretty big success. I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback and two new sign-ups, which like, per capita, is a pretty big deal for me. That number hasn’t gone UP since like March. I’m glad that so far people are finding the website easy to navigate and convenient.
